Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a beautiful & macabre piece of artwork painted during World War II which depicts two Army medics with Red Cross armbands & M1 helmets inserting an IV into a wounded soldier. The medic on the left is inserting the IV while the other medic holds it upright. The artwork is signed in the bottom right corner and appears to read Bremin, but the name is very difficult to make out. If the name could be discerned, it could be referenced with known Army artists of the war to possibly find an ID.
The artwork appears to have some damage which was rectified by framing, including a tear near the top and some folding. The painting is likely a watercolor and is very characteristic of being painted by a hand that was there. The terrain appears to be mountainous, but of this we can’t be certain. This is a piece that requires a lot more research.
The medics appear to be wearing M1943 field jackets, but this is just conjecture. This is a truly gorgeous unique piece of WWII Medic artwork, ready for further research and display. It is already properly mounted and ready to hang.
